It-sa has added a new partner to its network: Bundesverband IT-Mittelstand e. V. (BITMi). The association represents the interests of more than 2,000 IT companies on the German and European stage and is thus the largest professional IT association to exclusively represent the interests of mid-sized companies in Germany. The BITMi is made up of direct members and associated regional bodies and professional associations of mid-sized enterprises working in the fields of software, internet, services and hardware. BITMi chairman Dr Oliver Grün emphasizes the importance of IT security: “Exactly like the digital transformation process as such, IT security too must inevitably be a matter for top management. Because installing the occasional anti-virus programme or spam filter here and there still doesn’t provide adequate protection against cyber threats. Instead, companies need to implement a comprehensive IT security concept that is constantly updated and flexible enough to respond to new circumstances.” At it-sa 2019, BITMi will be giving a forum presentation on IT security in mid-sized companies, focusing on the underlying conditions, challenges and collaborative solutions.
