The average cost of a successful ransomware attack is now in the hundreds of thousands - even if no ransom has to be paid. Since new, targeted attacks are increasingly attacking directly on accessible backups, additional protective measures must also and especially secure backups. Nevertheless, the more and better investments are made in advance, the better the follow-up costs can be kept under control in the event of an attack. Experts are certain that once a company or an authority is targeted by attackers, it is only a matter of time before an attack is successful.
Reiner Bielmeier gives an overview of the cost factors in the event of an attack, the protective measures beyond firewalls and coaxing, as well as the possibilities for an attack-proof backup. Based on Silent Bricks - our flexible managed storage for all aspects of data protection - exemplary configurations are presented. We have also created several fact checks and further videos on this complex topic, which you can access via our website.
