Action description

The European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) has published a new strategy following on from the EU Cybersecurity Act that entered into force in June 2019. Empowering communities is key strategic objective where ENISA aim to deepen relationships with our partners & aims to ensure complementarity of efforts. The Agency's Executive Director, Juhan Lepassaar will present the new vision for realising a trusted and cyber secure Europe. He will outline the threats and challenges that Europe faces and how the EU Agency for Cybersecurity can add value when achieving a high common level of cybersecurity across the Union. In a world that has become hyper-connected, cybercriminals pose a significant threat to the internal security of the European Union and security of its citizens online. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for more security in the digital world. People have increased their presence online to maintain personal and professional relations, while cybercriminals have taken advantage of this situation, targeting in particular e-commerce and e-payment businesses, as well as the healthcare system. The European Union Agency for Cybersecurity contributes to EU cyber policy, enhances the trustworthiness of ICT products, services and processes with cybersecurity certification schemes, cooperates with Member States and EU bodies, and helps Europe prepare for the cyber challenges of tomorrow. Through knowledge sharing, capacity building and awareness raising, the Agency works together with its key stakeholders to strengthen trust in the connected economy, to boost resilience of the Union's infrastructure, and, ultimately, to keep Europe's society and citizens digitally secure. ... read more
