Since the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy S21, Samsung has dispensed with a MicroSD card slot in the devices, which is a prerequisite for using the Secusmart Smart Card.
As an alternative to using a MicroSD-based security anchor, Samsung integrates a security chip (embedded Secure Element) evaluated to high standards (EAL 6).
Secusmart implements an applet for the eSE, which replaces the Secusmart smart card.
