The workshop highlights the risks associated with the use of QR codes – with a particular focus on quishing, i.e. phishing attacks via QR codes. In the current context, we also consider the increasing use of optical seals and the planned introduction of the EUDI wallet, which raise new security and attack issues.

In short keynote speeches, experts explain what quishing is, how attacks typically occur and what concepts and solutions have already been developed. These approaches are then discussed together, alternative options are examined and synergies between the participants are identified.

The aim of the workshop is to develop practical measures that enable the secure use of QR codes and make fraud attempts detectable at an early stage.
