The amended BSIG, which implements the NIS 2 Directive, is estimated to apply to around 30,000 companies. According to an analysis conducted as of 2 April 2026, only about half of them had registered with the BSI. This discrepancy alone illustrates the difficulties companies face in applying the revised BSIG, particularly when assessing whether they fall within its scope. Drawing on extensive experience from advising clients on numerous related matters, the presentation highlights the most common misconceptions in applicability assessments and offers practical solutions.
