Trust in the EUDI Wallet is not created by a single application or security component. It emerges from the interaction of multiple participants, each contributing to the security and reliability of the overall ecosystem.

By the end of 2026, every EU Member State must provide at least one EUDI Wallet. Organisations preparing to issue or rely on digital credentials are deciding which roles they will assume – and which security responsibilities follow from them. Security professionals will recognise the pattern from the cloud: responsibilities are divided, and the expensive failures happen where both sides assume the other covers the gap.
