Post Zero Trust and Cyber Resilience – Security Starts with Identity

Traditional security architectures often begin only when a protected connection is established. Post Zero Trust starts earlier: identity, the security environment and applicable policies are verified before application-specific communication is permitted. The presentation explains how client control, Perfect Forward Secrecy, Zero Footprint and the avoidance of unnecessary network relationships reduce the attack surface. Combined with highly available platforms and reliable recovery mechanisms, this creates cyber resilience from secure access to the restoration of critical services.

Session description

Speaker: Robert Ollech

The boundaries of traditional enterprise networks have dissolved. Cloud services, mobile work, home offices, external service providers and hybrid infrastructures are now part of everyday IT operations. Zero Trust was therefore a necessary paradigm shift: access is no longer determined by a user’s or device’s location within a supposedly trusted network, but by identity, device, context, authorization and policy.

Before deciding which resource a user may access, a more fundamental question must be answered: who is actually sitting in front of the computer? Until the human identity has been reliably established, no protected application, security-relevant communication environment or access path to the corporate infrastructure should be created. The sec ...
