The quest for digital independence, especially from large US providers, is dominating the current discourse in IT. Since complete independence from cloud hyperscalers is still unrealistic at present, some are considering a return to on-premises IT. But how much EU can actually be found in local IT? Using one of our storage systems as an example, we show how far digital sovereignty can be achieved in IT.
