Industrial control systems (ICS) are the backbone of critical infrastructures, but many companies have little to no overview of their OT assets. With the IT Security Act 2.0 and the NIS2 directive, regulatory requirements are increasing significantly - asset discovery is becoming a compliance obligation.

This presentation will show how IDS systems (intrusion detection systems) work for asset detection in OT environments and contribute to compliance. We highlight the technical mechanisms and procedures for the automated identification and classification of industrial plants, SCADA systems and IoT devices.
