Session description

The talk looks back on four years of Offensive Security. Team SiK of the Secure Software Engineering department at Fraunhofer SIT is a group of dedicated IT security researchers who investigate security vulnerabilities with a focus on Android applications.

Over the past four years, the team examined a wide variety of applications and found around 200 vulnerabilities. These included gaps in antivirus software, smart home applications, password manager apps to VoIP phones. Dr. Steven Arzt explains, among other things, how the team examined cloud databases such as Facebook's Parse and Amazon's AWS and came across around 56 million unprotected data records.
