Information technology (IT) is firmly anchored in every aspect of everyday life and is the basis of digitalisation. "Digital sovereignty" is a crucial precondition for Europe's competitiveness, with a view to "Industry 4.0", as well as for the operation of critical infrastructures (CRITIS) or GAIA-X and 5G. In this presentation, the architectural recommendations of the "Secure Platform" working group of the German IT Security Association (Bundesverband IT-Sicherheit e. V.) will be presented. (TeleTrusT) will be presented. The current focus of the working group is recommendations for secure platforms. The implementation recommendations are summarised in a position paper. Experts from more than 10 companies active in the field of IT security have contributed. The working group's concrete objective is the reference implementation of a "secure platform" for high and highest security levels. Such a "Secure Platform" is to be regarded as the basis of digital sovereignty.

In the first position paper "'Secure Platform': Digital Sovereignty as Motivation for a Secure IT Ecosystem in Germany and Europe" of the TeleTrusT working group from April 2020, it was stated that Digital Sovereignty does not exist. Regaining Digital Sovereignty can be achieved by:

- Reducing digital dependence on non-European providers,

- Moving away from harmful design paradigms, especially system complexity, and

- Favouring more responsible buyer behaviour towards sustainable IT security.

The second position paper, which is about to be finalised, is primarily dedicated to the technical discussion and the derivation of recommendations in accordance with the dissolution of "harmful design paradigms" as well as the strengthening or reestablishment of a European IT ecosystem in the sense of reducing dependencies on non-European providers.
