As a result of the digital transformation, digital information and information-processing technologies have become central components for companies - and thus also central risks. This applies not only to risks from cyber attacks, but also to risks regarding the general availability and resilience of I&T systems, and increasingly also to compliance risks. Both regulatory compliance and compliance with industry standards must be taken into account, as compliance with these is often a prerequisite and the basis of contracts with customers and suppliers.

Another risk is increasingly the problem of a lack of qualified employees, so that a "battle for brains" has broken out, which must also be taken into account in the design of a modern and attractive workplace in order to attract and retain employees.

All these aspects require a high degree of standardization, availability, security and usability of IT systems. Cloud services, especially from hyperscales such as Microsoft, can achieve just that. This results in an industrialization of IT.
