It is the same old story: There are more and more cyberattacks, every business is at risk, please stay calm, the life jackets are under your seats.

(Almost) all the key players in the company know that threat prevention is of major significance.

In the past, the slogan ‘cybersecurity is a management matter’ was even used as a conference title.

However, it is not only the CISOs, the IT department, and the management level that must be convinced of this.

Comprehensive cybersecurity is only possible if each and every person pulls in the same direction.

How does this work and where does OSINT come into this?

In our talk, we will present OSINT as a powerful component of effective security awareness measures.

It enables businesses to drastically reduce the likelihood of suffering a social engineering attack.

If employed properly, Open Source Intelligence analyses can be used as an innovative and powerful method to create attack profiles and provide targeted training using the same weapons that are wielded by cybercriminals.

By analysing publicly available information about companies and employees, it is possible to simulate realistic, target-oriented spear phishing attacks that show your staff how serious security risks actually are. A cutting-edge training tool in a secure environment.

In addition, we will look at best practices for a comprehensive security awareness strategy. We will show how businesses can establish a security culture where all employees are actively involved in protecting the company’s resources.
