Session description

Speaker: Mihail Lupan Most organizations still treat OT as a separate thing to scan now and then. That made sense when OT meant industrial equipment. It does not anymore.

Today OT also means computers, IP cameras, IoT devices, smart heating and cooling systems, badge readers, and power systems, all on the same network as everything else. Most of that is ordinary IT that nobody has ever assessed. If the OT scan only looks at the industrial layer, most of the OT goes unseen.

In this session, Mihail Lupan, who leads security research at Holm Security, explains why OT and IT have to be assessed together and ranked against each other. He also covers the equipment that still needs careful handling, because a device built decades ago can stop responding to traffic a modern server ...
