With the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO), it-sa is gaining one of the key players in the European cybersecurity ecosystem as a new partner. In its exclusive role as European Sovereignty Partner, ECSO is strengthening the trade fair’s European reach and further driving its development into the leading pan-European platform for IT security.
it-sa – Home of IT Security is further expanding its European focus: by partnering with the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO), Europe’s leading trade fair for IT security is bringing on board a key player in the European cybersecurity ecosystem as a new strategic partner.
The trade fair has been supported for many years by close cooperation between institutions, associations and political stakeholders. It is held under the patronage of Alexander Dobrindt, Federal Minister of the Interior. With the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), Bitkom e. V. – the trade association for the German information and telecommunications industry – as a supporting organisation, and the Federal Association for IT Security e.V. (TeleTrusT) as a premium partner, three strong national players form the proven foundation of it-sa. This partner portfolio is now being specifically complemented by ECSO and expanded to include a European dimension.
As part of the cooperation, ECSO is taking on the newly created, exclusive role of “European Sovereignty Partner” for it-sa, thereby strengthening the trade fair’s strategic internationalisation and pan-European positioning. As Dr Joanna Świątkowska, Secretary General of ECSO, emphasises, “This strategic partnership marks an important milestone for our ecosystem. it‑sa has become a cornerstone event for Europe’s cybersecurity community, and we clearly see this collaboration as a major opportunity to further strengthen the European cyber market. Together, we will create more space for high‑level strategic debates, support Europe’s cybersecurity sovereignty, and better connect industry, investors, policymakers and the wider ecosystem. At the same time, ECSO will bring a strong European flavour to this partnership – anchored in pan‑European cooperation, shared values, and a long‑term vision for Europe’s digital resilience and strategic autonomy.”
ECSO is the leading European public-private organisation for cybersecurity. It systematically brings together stakeholders from industry, research, politics and public institutions across the EU and EFTA states to strengthen Europe’s digital sovereignty and enhance the long-term resilience of the European cybersecurity ecosystem. The main focus of its work lies on mobilising funding and investment – particularly to support start-ups and scale-ups – on initiatives such as Women4Cyber to promote diversity, skilled workers and the next generation, and on the development and establishment of European quality marks and labels to strengthen the visibility, trust and market position of European cybersecurity solutions.
“With ECSO, we are bringing on board a partner that takes a consistently European approach to cybersecurity and offers excellent connections to policymakers, institutions and communities,” says Thimo Holst, Exhibition Director of it-sa – Home of IT Security. “Building on it-sa’s established role in Germany, we are jointly creating an even more closely networked European forum. This specifically addresses the growing need for digital sovereignty and enhances the appeal of the trade fair for exhibitors, trade visitors and institutions from across Europe.”
This partnership is evident, among other things, in the ECSO Village, which is being established at the trade fair as a European meeting place for stakeholders from the worlds of politics, business and research. In addition, ECSO engages with international delegations and contributes its strategic expertise to the further development of the it-sa Congress. Political networks and CISO communities complement this collaboration at both a content and strategic level.
With this new partnership, it-sa, as the Home of IT Security, underlines its commitment to consistently combining national strength with a European perspective – and to further establishing itself as the leading pan-European platform for IT security and digital resilience.
