Action description

News of hacking attacks is increasingly becoming the order of the day. The crisis surrounding COVID-19 was quickly exploited by cybercriminals to attack companies and their employees. In the wake of this exceptional situation, many companies were forced to "fast-track digitalization" with their processes and abruptly introduce new tools - with corresponding implications for IT security. Data and information must now also be processed securely in the home office. At the same time, collaboration tools, such as video conferencing software or messenger programs, are becoming a particular focus for attackers. New methods such as voice phishing, smishing and AI pose an ever-changing security risk.

With reference to current statistics, empirical values from social engineering prevention and findings from the Human Risk Report 2021, the presentation "HUMAN FACTOR" In Crisis - How Cybercriminals Are Attacking Us Now" is dedicated to this topic. In the lecture, Dr. Niklas Hellemann, graduate psychologist and managing director of SoSafe, will address the challenges in the field of cyber security that companies are facing in the wake of the "New Normal". A particular focus will be on the role of humans as a security-relevant factor, as well as on social engineering attacks designed to gain access to sensitive data through psychological manipulation. It will also address what companies can do now to ensure an adequate level of security even in long-term "remote work mode."
