Action description

In Germany we now spend 3.6 hours a day on our smartphones. In everyday work, the smartphone is already an essential tool, with which many business processes can be carried out on the go.
Respond quickly to an e-mail, record a short voice message in Messenger, take part in a conference call with your smartphone while sitting on the train or take a picture of a document with your cell phone instead of scanning it at the printer. These are just a few examples that we naturally do with our smartphones today.
But with this increasing mobility, the risk and the possible attack vectors for the corporate network are also growing. In addition, some organizations must continue to be able to edit sensitive and classified content regardless of location and device.
This is exactly where SINA Mobile comes into play. The solution establishes a secure connection to the corporate network and controls the inflow and outflow of data. The sensitive data is transferred from the backend server to the end device via a protected and hardened runtime environment. However, the data is only displayed in this runtime environment and never leaves it. This makes it impossible for the user to store sensitive data on the end device.
The processing of the data also takes place on the backend server. Only the sensors and actuators are passed in for this purpose. This turns the end device into a thin client with minimal hardware requirements.
This VMI (Virtual Mobile Infrastructure) architecture has a number of advantages:

- No risk of losing the end device, since nothing is stored on it
- Very high level of security, as the data is processed in the backend
- Very good scaling of the computing power
- Very easy maintainability and updates by the admin without having to involve the end user
- Devices are not subject to innovation pressure

In addition, SINA Mobile is compatible with the SINA infrastructure. In this way, SINA customers also benefit from an existing infrastructure.
Approval according to VS-NfD for SINA Mobile is aimed for in 2023 and the solution is initially only available for Android devices. Plans for implementation on iOS can be found in the roadmap
