Session description
Secure digital identities are the key to trustworthy digital transactions between citizens, companies, government, objects and machines. eIDAS 2.0 sets a binding European framework for self-sovereign as well as regulatory secure digital identities from the core identity (proof of company/person) to digital proofs (e.g. authorisation to act). The EU DigitalWallet is to be made available to every citizen/company and is not only to be applicable throughout Europe, but is to be accepted as mandatory. The lecture presents the new regulations, the foreseeable technical requirements as well as strategic initiatives in Europe and gives an outlook on possible use cases.
