security and availability in the Operational Technology (OT) world is a
critical concern due to the increasing integration of digital technologies and
the increased connectivity to open networks. Reliability and availably
requirements for OT-systems that controls and monitors physical devices,
processes, and infrastructure in industries such as manufacturing, energy,
transportation, and utilities are of the highest standards to ensure the safety
and sustainability of our society. This integration, often referred to as the
convergence of IT (Information Technology) and OT, brings numerous benefits but
also exposes OT systems to new security risks.
In this session we look at these new security risks and the critical steps to
be taken to ensure these OT-systems and the converged IT/OT systems would need
to undertake to meet the requirements of the OT-world.
