Learn in this article how Application Allowlisting and Application Behaviour Control prevent attacks with encryption Trojans.
Application Allowlisting allows only authorised software to be executed; ransomware, whether known or unknown, and unwanted programmes cannot be executed.
Application Behaviour Control, on the other hand, extends this highly effective measure by controlling what authorised applications can do. This makes it much harder to exploit a vulnerability and prevents attackers from using legitimate tools such as PowerShell for their own purposes. This greatly restricts the use of fileless malware, attacks such as application hopping or access to sensitive data.
