The presentation begins with the perspective of a hacked company in Germany. It examines the legal claims available to the affected company. Potential (damage) claims against all relevant parties will be examined.

Claims against the hackers will be analyzed and assessed for their practical enforceability. Furthermore, any liability of management/executive board members towards the company will be discussed. This also includes claims against employees (especially those in the IT department) who may have negligently facilitated the cyberattack. Potential claims by the company against the provider of the anti-virus software or firewall are also of interest.
