The amended BSIG, which implements the NIS-2 Directive, is estimated to apply to around 30,000 companies. According to an analysis conducted as of 2 April 2026, only around half of them had registered with the BSI. This discrepancy alone illustrates the difficulties companies face with the revised BSIG. Drawing on extensive experience from numerous related mandates, the presentation highlights the most common misconceptions both in assessing applicability and regarding the legal consequences, and offers practical solutions.
