The Federal Office for Information Security advises comprehensively on the identification of balanced solution approaches in questions of information security, coordinates consulting requests and conducts basic training in this field. Information security consulting for the Federal Administration Currently, the security consultancy provides support for major digitisation projects of the administration, for example in the context of the implementation of the Online Access Act (OZG) or in securing electronic legal transactions. Advising authorities and departments of the federal administration on setting up, maintaining and improving an ISMS is of great importance. This includes support for larger projects in the federal administration, including the respective security concepts. This also includes support with problems in the Corona crisis, such as security-related issues in the home office. The BSI's security consultancy works closely with the Federal Academy for Public Administration (BAköV). Most recently, among other things, the manual for further training for IT security officers in public administration was significantly revised and has been used in further training in an up-to-date and modern version since the beginning of 2020. Information security consulting for federal states and municipalities For more than a year, the information security consultancy for federal states and municipalities has been advising target group-specific users at federal state and municipal level on all questions of information security with the thematic focus on information security management, security conception and basic IT protection. On the basis of concluded declarations of intent with the federal states, the first concrete support projects with various state administrations have been successfully implemented and concluded. Cooperation with the municipalities is also carried out through close contact with the municipal umbrella organisations.
