Shibboleth is one of most common solutions for federations worldwide and connects users with applications within and between organizations.

The open source project provides single sign-on functions based on the standard SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language). Consequently, users only have to authenticate themselves once to access several services within a federation. Furthermore, Shibboleth enables web applications to make profound authorization decisions for the individual access to protected online resources in a GDPR-friendly way. Thus, Shibboleth is an essential part of Federated Identity & Access Management at DAASI International. Each software component of Shibboleth is free and open source.

DAASI International can also extend Shibboleth beyond the standard functionality for you, for example with the help of plugins. With said individually developed plugins, Shibboleth can easily be integrated into any given IT landscape.
