In the next five to ten years, with the commercial availability of quantum computers, existingcryptographic algorithms will no longer offer the necessary security, putting our entire digital infrastructure at risk. For this reason, the NIST began selecting algorithms back in 2017 that offer the necessary security even in the age of quantum computers.
