Monitoring and forensics take on an important role in discovering unknown vulnerabilities in cyber security and preventing further damage. To achieve this, large amounts of data must be processed and visualised in the best possible way. For this purpose, visual analytics methods have proven themselves, which combine algorithms of automatic data analysis and machine learning with new visualisation methods to enable experts to interact with these data sets. Of particular interest are methods for recognising unusual events that are difficult to identify automatically. Especially for such situations, visual analysis as a collaboration of human expertise and machine processing lends itself, for example, via an active learning approach.
