Vulnerability Management Specialist (m/w/d)

Extend the functionality of vulnerability management with your comprehensive knowledge of what impact vulnerabilities can have on clients, servers, (web) applications, networks and cloud environments and improve the security level of IT infrastructures. The goal is the preventive detection and elimination of vulnerabilities before they are exploited by cyber attacks. We focus on analysing and communicating the potential dangers, technical characteristics and possible solutions to the vulnerabilities.

Since 2004, 8com has been an established cyber security partner for medium-sized businesses. We offer our customers numerous managed security services such as vulnerability management, SIEM, EDR as well as incident response management and other security operations centre (SOC) services. 8com's portfolio also includes services in the area of security awareness (employee sensitisation). 

What you can expect

• You will be responsible for the integration and application of the Qualys and Tenable technologies used in Vulnerability Management.
• To do this, you will continuously monitor systems and their applications for vulnerabilities
• You will then analyse the scan results
• If you find vulnerabilities, you support our customers by researching, evaluating, analysing and recommending targeted measures.
• You also make sure that the continuous scans run smoothly.
• You further develop the processing of the data in a customer-oriented way, so that the need for action is immediately apparent and the information can be easily processed further.
• You support our sales department with technical questions regarding the further development of services for our customers.

What makes you stand out

• You have completed a (dual) degree, preferably in the field of computer science, information technology, business informatics, or a comparable qualification with a focus on IT security.
• Are you familiar with network topologies, firewalls, Linux and Windows servers? Great! 
• Ideally, you already have experience in using the common security tools Qualys and Tenable.
• You are no stranger to project and software management.
• It's clear that you have a willingness to work and an analytical and independent way of working.
• You also need a good command of written and spoken English and German in order to communicate with our customers.
